Operation Sindhu: 3,170 Evacuated by India from Conflict Zones in Israel & Iran

India’s Operation Sindhu has safely evacuated 3,170 individuals, including Indian nationals as well as citizens of Sri Lanka and Nepal, from conflict-hit Israel and Iran. Coordinated by the Ministry of External Affairs, the effort reflects India’s growing role in global crisis response, with evacuation flights carried out by both commercial carriers and the Indian Air Force.

Among those rescued were students, workers, and religious pilgrims, many with deep ties to diaspora families across the U.S., UK, and Gulf. For the global Indian community, the scale and speed of the operation offer reassurance that India’s global citizens are not forgotten in times of crisis.

Officials continue to urge travelers to register with embassies abroad and avoid non-essential travel to volatile regions.
